Since 15 years KALAA has has been teaching adept and mindful yoga teachers, who are equipped to guide students of all levels through a smart and safe yoga practice.
Their 200-hour training is designed to build a strong foundation for understanding the holistic system of yoga, including a solid physical practice as well as a diverse overview of yoga philosophy, ethics and lifestyle. Alongside a mayor focus on Asana and teaching practice, the training offers in depth knowledge about all aspects of Vinyasa Krama, emphasizing the integration of the principles of Hatha yoga and applied anatomy and physiology.
The course is suitable for practitioners who want to become yoga teachers and wish to spread the teachings of yoga in a supportive and encouraging manner, or for people who intend to deepen their personal yoga practice and take it to a new level.
Throughout the training emphasis will be placed on nourishing the participants’ creativity, skillfulness, focus and introspection.
The training is conducted by KALAA Yoga founders Manuela Berndt and Stefanie Berndt (E-RYT). The anatomy module is taught by Maria Krause. Their faculty members have each over 20 years of teaching experience and since 2014 KALAA Yoga Berlin has run 20 accredited yoga teacher training courses.

This 200-hour training includes an extensive practical component as well as broad theoretical blocks on yoga philosophy, ethics and teaching methodology.
The curriculum is designed to create a solid Vinyasa Yoga foundation and integrate holistic techniques such as meditation, pranayama, mudra and mantra.

Another focus of the training is the integration of the principles of Hatha Yoga with applied anatomy and physiology.

Refine alignment of key yoga poses and gain an understanding of how to adapt Asanas to individual physical abilities. Integrate Asanas, transitions and sequences into the principle of Vinyasa Krama by internalizing the breath-movement connection. Build and instruct Vinyasa yoga sequences. Cultivate a mind-body approach and practice awareness in motion.

Connect to sensitivity and to deep listening. Guide and conduct the breath consciously. Get in touch with a variety of techniques to build a meditation practice.

Introduction to traditional yoga texts as well as contemporary yoga literature, connecting different backgrounds with the Western yoga context. Lectures on yoga philosophy, methods and ethics.

Practical, applied and interactive anatomy learning. Profound knowledge of the human body in relation to yoga practice and teaching. Asana breakdown and analysis: Physiological effects, benefits and contraindications.

Methodology, didactics and communication within the yoga context. Injury prevention, use of props and hands-on assists. Use of voice and language, thoughtful wording, clear instructions, demonstrations and adjustments. Skillful planning, preparing and structuring of Vinyasa yoga classes.

Different approaches and methods of working with gentle yoga styles and the principles of regeneration. Restorative yoga and yoga for back relief to experience how to teach people with health constraints and injuries or general back and shoulder constrictions.

Meet your teachers

Stefanie Berndt is co-founder of KALAA Yoga Berlin and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500). She has been teaching classes, workshops, trainings and retreats for over 15 years and is commited to one on one yoga tuition. She studied dance theatre in the Netherlands and discovered Vinyasa, Restorative yoga and mindfulness meditation with Cyndi Lee/Om Yoga. Further training in Hatha and Tantra yoga with Ishta Yoga Berlin, Sivananda Yoga India and YogSadhna with Indu Arora have impacted her practice. She is fascinated by yogic and Vedic philosophy and studies Advaita Vedanta and Leela Yoga in the tradition of Harish Johari.
As an instructor, Stefanie immerses herself not only in the teaching of Asana and Vinyasa methodology, but also in yoga- specific ways of thinking as well as concepts of yoga anatomy and yoga philosophy. She specializes in holistic techniques such as Kriya, Pranayama, Restorative yoga and meditation.

Manuela Berndt came to yoga as a professional dancer and choreographer. She has completed various trainings in Vinyasa yoga, Hatha yoga, yoga therapy and Thai yoga massage. As a somatic coach, she is constantly expanding her knowledge of movement and anatomy and has been a student of Mary McDermott and Tias Little for many years. Her book ''Somatisches Training – Die Kraft der sanften Bewegung'' was published by riva Verlag in 2025.
Manuela co-founded KALAA Yoga Berlin in 2011 and has over 20 years of teaching experience in various yoga schools, companies, training centers and other institutions.
In her teaching practice, she shares Vinyasa Krama as a multi- faceted yoga system and specializes in somatic movement training. In the 300-hour teacher training, she focuses on applied anatomy, somatics, movement analysis as well as teaching methodology and didactics.

Die Krause is a physiotherapist and has accomplished various yoga, dance and gymnastics trainings. She completed her 200-hour teacher training in Hatha Vinyasa yoga with Henning Moog and received her certification as a manual therapist with an osteopathic concept at the Top-Physio training center in Berlin.
Die constantly deepens her special interest in the anatomy of the moving human body in applied anatomy with Erik Franklin, in spiral dynamics with Brigitte Zehethofer and in fascia theory with Stefan Datt.
Her second passion is Mantra yoga, which she regularly practices and develops further, amongst others with Aleah Gandharvika.

Kristin completed her 500-hour Vinyasa Yoga training at OM Yoga New York under the guidance of Cyndi Lee and has been teaching group classes, private lessons, and workshops since 2011. She has been part of the KALAA Yoga team since 2012. In our 200- and 300-hour yoga teacher trainings, Kristin teaches Vinyasa Yoga, gentle yoga methods, and meditation.

In addition to her work as an author, Janine Eck is a permanent member of the KALAA Yoga Berlin team. She accomplished her 200-hour and 300-hour yoga trainings here. She also completed a 100-hour Yin yoga training with Katrin Knauth. The rich experience of her profound self- practice and continuous training in yoga and meditation make Janine a very experienced and specialized teacher. In the 300-hour teacher training, she provides insights into the Yin yoga method.

Structure
From October 2026 to June 2027 the trainees will complete 10 intensive teacher training weekends in Berlin. You have the possibility to accomplish 30% of the training period online.
All participants are provided with a KALAA Yoga 20-class pass for the duration of the training.
