Cacao Roots is a documentary about the people, land, and traditions behind ceremonial cacao in Guatemala. Ceremonial cacao has recently become popular around the world, yet very little is known about the places and communities where these traditions come from. This film follows the people who continue this work today — farmers, elders, and families who live with cacao and pass these practices on to the next generation.
