Dive deeper into the anatomy and energetic practice of Yin and finding your path as a Yin Yoga teacher

A key component of this immersion is a deeper understanding of how Yin Yoga supports the nervous system: Through long-held poses, slow, mindful breathing, and conscious stillness, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, and potential overstimulation of the sympathetic system is regulated. Your teacher, Matthäa, will guide you through anatomical fundamentals and energetic practices, supporting you in finding your own unique path as a Yin Yoga teacher.

  • "The Yin Yoga training was a perfect opportunity for me to learn a lot about yin concepts and its “challenges”, mindfulness, to have many valuable insights about teaching yin and to practice Yin amazingly for hours. Matthäa is a very attentive and motivating teacher. I felt very grounded and inspired. Very grateful for this real Yin Yoga experience."

    Oxana (2024)

  • "This was my first teacher training and it couldn't have been better. Matthäa organized everything so thoughtfully - small gifts on the mats, when we arrived; super detailed YTT manual; and her teaching was besides her extensive knowledge about Yin Yoga super kind and heartwarming. Thank you so much Matthäa!"

    Teresa (2024)

  • "Matthäa's guidance through the training was confident and competent. Her profound knowledge was shared thoroughly and I don't think she was holding back or keeping anything to herself. She met everyone where they were on their Yoga teaching journey and her teaching in English was effortlessly impeccable. Thank you!"

Meet your Teacher

Matthäa Mollenhauer (RYT 800h, E-RYT 500)

Matthäa is a Yoga and Meditation teacher based in Berlin. She was introduced to yoga many years ago by her mother and has been deeply connected to the practice ever since. After completing her first 200-hour teacher training in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow, her self-practice evolved profoundly, and she discovered the calmness, bliss, and joy that teaching brings to her—deepening her love for yoga even further. Since then, she has completed numerous additional trainings and fully immerses herself in teaching these holistic practices, which are an integral part of her own life.

In her Vinyasa classes, Matthäa teaches intuitive movement with a strong emphasis on the body–mind connection in āsana. She enhances the practice through breathing techniques (prāṇāyāma) and guided meditation. Her classes are guided with care and safety, honoring the body’s boundaries and focusing on clean alignment, while still incorporating challenging sequences that empower students to experience the strength and potential of their own bodies.

Her passion lies in the pure essence of Yin Yoga. Matthäa aims to create a safe space where students can surrender into the softness of body and mind while encouraging the flow of Chi, the vital life force. Working in harmony with the meridian system, she integrates acupressure inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine to enrich and deepen the practice.
