Back to the Roots 2.0 Retreat in Portugal
May 27th - May 31st, 2026 • Ericeira, Portugal
Reconnect, Restore, and Recharge by the Ocean
Last year’s Back to the Roots retreat was so transformative that hosts Anne Gocht and Laura Gomez felt deeply called to bring it back for a second edition—Back to the Roots 2.0.
Over 5 days and 4 nights in Portugal, this retreat reunites three ancient healing practices—Yoga, Sound Healing, and Ayurveda—to help reset your nervous system, restore balance, and offer practical tools you can integrate into everyday life.
You are warmly invited to spend a week in the stunning coastal town of Ericeira, just 30 minutes from Lisbon, staying in a premium oceanfront villa. Together, you’ll explore the 5,000-year-old wisdom of Yoga, Sound, and Ayurveda while immersing ourselves in a nurturing, intentional community.
This retreat is open to both beginners and advanced practitioners, offering guidance and inspiration to deepen your practice, calm the nervous system, and rediscover inner balance. Through a carefully curated blend of movement, meditation, and mindful rituals, you’ll be supported in fully relaxing, restoring, and reconnecting—with yourself and with others.
This retreat is about returning to yourself, returning to nature, and enjoying life fully. It’s not just a pause; it’s a practice of reconnection, grounding, and simplicity that you can revisit again and again
The three holistic pillars which will support your journey:
Yoga: Traditional Vinyasa Yoga energizes and harmonizes your body, while gentle Yin Yoga encourages integration and letting go. Pranayama practices activate Prana, helping you connect with your life force.
Sound Healing: Ancient Tibetan singing bowls and Cacao ceremonies guide you into deep relaxation, emotional release, and presence.
Ayurveda: Known as the “Science of Life,” Ayurveda restores balance through mindful nourishment, self-care rituals, and daily grounding practices.
Each participant completes a Dosha test before the retreat, which we will discuss during our hands-on Ayurveda cooking and healthy nutrition workshop. By the end of the retreat, you will leave with a personalized guideline for your constitution (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and a practical roadmap for nutrition and lifestyle that supports your mind, body, and soul.

The yoga retreat takes place right by the ocean in the beautiful Saone Guesthouse. It is located in the nature reserve, near the coastal town of Ericeira. Ericeira is about 30 minutes north of Lisbon. The yoga center is located right on the beach, so you can wake up to the sound of the ocean in the morning. The beautiful rocky beach of São Julião is just a 15-minute walk away.
The Saone guesthouse is equipped with everything you need to relax. The three floors of the new coastal villa offer plenty of space. There is a large eat-in kitchen and a large living room with a fireplace. There is also a reading corner. In the garden there is a pool, hammocks and sun loungers. On the ground floor, there is a sauna, a wellness area and our large yoga room with sea views. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Meet your hosts
-
Laura is a Berlin-based Yoga teacher with roots in Spain. Since 2012, yoga has been an integral part of Laura’s life, both on and off the mat. Over the years, she has explored various styles for her own practice, including Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga.
Ashtanga taught Laura the power of breath, how to give and receive assists, and the value of a consistent practice. Its structured sequence remains her go-to when she needs to quiet her mind. However, Vinyasa Yoga has truly captured her heart. Laura loves the creativity of crafting fluid sequences, weaving themes into classes, and tailoring sessions for different levels. Since 2019 she has been teaching weekly classes in studios across Berlin and online, and in 2020 she created a community for yoga in the park in Pankow.
Beyond physical postures, Laura’s practice embraces meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques), and gratitude exercises. Her teaching is deeply informed by a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa certification and further specialized education in anatomy, accessibility, and alignment. She strives to create an authentic, joyful, and welcoming environment, making yoga approachable and fulfilling for everyone.
-
Anne is a Vinyasa & Yin Yoga teacher, Sound Healer, and Ayurvedic chef. After many years in Berlin, she followed her dream and moved to Ericeira, Portugal, where the retreat takes place.
Being a typical Vata personality, Anne experienced digestive problems and mental breakdowns. Yoga and Ayurveda helped her restore balance and ease, inspiring her to dive deeply into these traditions. She has completed multiple trainings, including stays in Ayurveda ashrams and Panchakarma centers in India.
Since 2020, Anne has been teaching yoga and holding space for retreats. Her training exceeds 800 hours across Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga sequencing, Yin Yoga, Sound Healing, Ayurveda nutrition & cooking, as well as Mantra & Bhakti Yoga. She travels regularly to India to deepen her practice and understanding. Anne’s work brings together all these elements alongside her personal experiences and travels, creating retreats that nourish body, mind, and soul.
