20hr Restorative Yoga Teacher Training

October 23rd - 25th, 2026 • Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, Germany

The training offers you the opportunity to develop a deep and embodied understanding of Restorative Yoga. You will begin by exploring your own relationship with rest and stillness and develop a personal Restorative Yoga practice that serves as the foundation for teaching authentically and confidently.

Building on this foundation, you will learn how to integrate and teach Restorative Yoga in a variety of settings, including group classes, private 1:1 sessions, retreats, and workshops. You will develop your anatomical understanding while also learning how to observe and read the body’s signals, recognize individual needs, and identify where additional support is needed. You will explore how props, positioning, modifications, and sequencing can be used to create supportive conditions for deep rest and restoration.

A trauma-sensitive approach will guide you in creating practices that support safety, choice, and individual boundaries. The training combines the traditions of B.K.S. Iyengar and Judith Hanson Lasater with current insights from anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. It provides practical tools and a deeper understanding of how Restorative Yoga can support sustainable rest, recovery, and balance - both in your own practice and in your teaching.

Language: German

"Restorative yoga is not about stretching.

It's about opening up to the present moment."

- Judith Hanson Lasater

Restorative Yoga uses props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease, facilitating relaxation and health. By applying knowledge of anatomy and physiology, the practice intentionally influences the nervous system, guiding it from tension toward balance and deep restoration. Unlike Yin Yoga, which works with gentle stress on connective tissues, Restorative Yoga aims to minimize stimulation of the nervous system. This creates space for greater interoceptive awareness and helps you reconnect with your intuition and creativity.

“I can highly recommend the Restorative Yoga training. Julia created an exceptionally warm and safe container for our group - without pressure or any sense of performance, but with plenty of space for rest and truly arriving. The poses and use of props were incredibly practical and have directly influenced both my own practice and the classes I teach.”
