the touch.® 30hrs ESSENTIALS
Spring 2027 / Autumn 2027 • Hybrid Training • Online + 3-Day Immersion • Berlin / Brandenburg, Germany • Taught by Marie Sophie Kiepe
Touch begins with listening.
The 30hrs Essentials is the foundation of the touch.® — an introduction to intentional touch, embodied listening and the intelligence of the hands.
Rooted in osteopathic principles, Daoist philosophy and Tibetan healing traditions, the training brings together nearly two decades of hands-on experience with anatomy, nervous system awareness and embodied practice.
You will learn to sense more clearly, touch with greater confidence and develop a way of working that begins with listening rather than doing.
What you will learn:
The foundations of touch — from ancient traditions to contemporary practice.
How to refine the sensitivity of your hands and develop embodied listening.
The anatomy of touch — skin, fascia and the nervous system.
How biomechanics, breath and energetic flow interact within the body.
Hands-on approaches to sensing alignment, tension and movement.
How to work with areas of accumulated tension through responsive, intentional touch.

A training for those who want to understand touch differently
The pathway welcomes people from different backgrounds.
Some enter with years of experience in physiotherapy, massage, movement, yoga, somatic or therapeutic work. Others arrive without a professional background in bodywork but with a genuine curiosity about touch, embodiment and the human body.
You do not need to become someone who already “knows how to touch.” You need curiosity, presence and a willingness to learn through your own body first.
The Place - St. Oak
The in-person part of the training takes place at St. Oak, surrounded by nature outside Berlin.
For three days, we live, learn, eat and practice together — creating the intimacy and continuity that this work asks for.
Frequently asked questions
-
The 30HRS Essentials is open to both practitioners and those who are new to working with touch. Curiosity, openness and a willingness to practice are more important than previous experience.
-
The training combines three live online sessions with a three-day in-person immersion at St. Oak. We begin with self-practice, theory and embodied exploration online before bringing what you have learned into hands-on partner practice in person.
-
Live participation is highly encouraged, as the sessions are experiential and build upon one another. As we’ll be working in a small, intimate group, being there live also gives us the opportunity to get to know one another, build trust, and create a shared learning space throughout the journey.
Please note that no recordings will be available in the Memberspace. Instead, you’ll receive a guide accompanying the online sessions.
-
The training includes 30 hours of teaching, access to the Memberspace and training guide, two nights of accommodation and shared meals at St. Oak, as well as a private community space for exchange and support throughout the training.
-
The training is taught in English. Questions and individual guidance can also be offered in German.
-
Yes. The 30HRS Essentials forms the foundation of the touch.® practitioner pathway. From here, you can continue into the 70HRS Deepening and complete the full 100HRS pathway.
